Field trip 2: 'Garrigues and vineyard'

Salagou Lake. Situated 40 kms north-west of Montpellier, the Salagou Lake offers one of the most beautiful landscapes in France thanks to its highly varied geology which has created unique formations, including the bright red 'ruffe'. Presentation of two current management actions against Lagarosiphon major and Cylindropuntia rosea.

Visit of the Languedoc vineyards and garrigues (Montpeyroux).

Botanical trail allowing discovering the characteristic 'garrigue' flora. Presentation of the works carried out in the vineyards.

Visit of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert (9th century), situated in the gorge of the Hérault River. Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is a mediaeval village considered as one of the most beautiful of France.
